Ask for a Google review after a job is completed
Get a steady flow of fresh Google reviews without remembering to ask.
The problem
Happy customers rarely leave reviews unless asked, and owners forget to ask. Review count and recency drive local search rankings.
What it does
When a job is marked complete, it waits 2 hours and texts the customer your direct Google review link.
- Import
review-request-after-job.n8n.json. - Get your Google review link: Google Business Profile > Ask for reviews > copy link. Set GOOGLE_REVIEW_URL.
- Send job-completed events to the Webhook URL (Jobber/Housecall Pro webhooks, or Zapier 'Job completed' → Webhooks POST) with name and phone.
- Attach the Twilio credential and activate.
Credentials: each HTTP node uses a generic credential (Twilio = HTTP Basic Auth with Account SID/Auth Token; Resend/OpenAI = Header Auth Authorization: Bearer <key>). Values like $env.BUSINESS_NAME read environment variables. On n8n Cloud, replace them with literal text or n8n Variables ($vars).
Make / Zapier notes
Zapier: Jobber/Housecall Pro 'Job Completed' → Delay 2 hours → SMS. Make: same with a Sleep module or a scheduled queue.
Compliance notes
SMS consent (TCPA / A2P 10DLC): Only text people who gave you their number for this purpose (form checkbox, booking, or past customer relationship for transactional messages). Marketing texts need prior express written consent. Register your Twilio number for A2P 10DLC, include your business name, honor STOP/HELP (Twilio handles STOP automatically), and only send 8am-9pm recipient local time. Google review rules: Google prohibits review gating (only asking happy customers, or filtering unhappy ones away from Google) and offering incentives for reviews. Send the same request to every customer. A private feedback option is fine only if the Google link is shown to everyone too. Yelp prohibits soliciting reviews at all, so link Google/Facebook, not Yelp.
Expected result
Typically several times more reviews per month than asking in person, which helps local map-pack visibility.
