Follow up on quotes not accepted in 3 days
Close more of the quotes you already sent.
The problem
Quotes go out and nobody follows up. Customers get busy, forget, or quietly go with someone else.
What it does
Every morning it pulls open quotes, finds ones sent 3+ days ago with no follow-up, and sends a friendly check-in text with the quote link.
- Import
quote-follow-up.n8n.json. - Set QUOTES_URL to an endpoint returning a JSON array of quotes [{id, customer_name, phone, sent_at, status, quote_url, followed_up}]. Jobber's GraphQL API, the QuickBooks Estimates API, or a Google Sheet via Apps Script all work. Swap the HTTP node for the native node if one exists.
- Attach a Twilio credential. Optionally add a step that marks followed_up=true in your system (recommended, or the quote gets texted again tomorrow).
- Activate; it runs daily at 9am.
Credentials: each HTTP node uses a generic credential (Twilio = HTTP Basic Auth with Account SID/Auth Token; Resend/OpenAI = Header Auth Authorization: Bearer <key>). Values like $env.BUSINESS_NAME read environment variables. On n8n Cloud, replace them with literal text or n8n Variables ($vars).
Make / Zapier notes
Zapier: Schedule → Jobber 'Find quotes' or QuickBooks 'Find estimate' → Filter → SMS. Jobber also has built-in quote follow-ups on some plans, so check those first.
Compliance notes
SMS consent (TCPA / A2P 10DLC): Only text people who gave you their number for this purpose (form checkbox, booking, or past customer relationship for transactional messages). Marketing texts need prior express written consent. Register your Twilio number for A2P 10DLC, include your business name, honor STOP/HELP (Twilio handles STOP automatically), and only send 8am-9pm recipient local time.
Expected result
Recovers stalled quotes; a polite day-3 nudge is often all it takes to get a yes.
