Automatic birthday offer
Give customers a reason to come back during their birthday week.
The problem
Birthday offers get unusually high response rates, but sending them by hand never happens.
What it does
Each morning it finds customers whose birthday is in 3 days and emails them a personal offer.
- Import
birthday-offer.n8n.json. - Set CUSTOMERS_URL returning [{name, email, birthday: 'MM-DD' or full date, email_opt_in}] and OFFER.
- Verify your sending domain in Resend; attach a Resend Header Auth credential; set FROM_EMAIL.
- Activate.
Credentials: each HTTP node uses a generic credential (Twilio = HTTP Basic Auth with Account SID/Auth Token; Resend/OpenAI = Header Auth Authorization: Bearer <key>). Values like $env.BUSINESS_NAME read environment variables. On n8n Cloud, replace them with literal text or n8n Variables ($vars).
Make / Zapier notes
Klaviyo and Mailchimp have native birthday flows. If you already use them, set it up there and use this only for custom lists.
Compliance notes
Email (CAN-SPAM / GDPR): Promotional emails need an unsubscribe link and your physical address; honor opt-outs. In the EU/UK you need opt-in consent. Only collect month/day if you don't need the year (data minimization).
Expected result
Birthday emails tend to get some of the highest open and redemption rates of any automated email.
